Applied around the base of the plant, PlantGrow Slug and Snail Barrier will deter hungry molluscs from accessing the plants to feed. Unlike chemical-based slug pellets, PlantGrow Slug and Snail Barrier poses no threat to any of the beneficial slug and snail species that live within a garden, such as those that are involved in the composting and re-cycling of decaying plant matter. PlantGrow Slug and Snail Barrier is created from the dried solid commodity that results from anaerobic digestion of plant material. The base ingredients used in the process are specific cereal and grass crops. The product contains only natural ingredients with no synthetics or animal products. Over time PlantGrow Slug and Snail Barrier will slowly biodegrade and release important soil microbes into the surrounding soil. These microbes are collectively known as the Soil Microbiome and comprise of both bacteria and fungi that naturally break down organic matter to release and make available the vital macro and micronutrients for healthy and sustained plant growth.

Recommended use – PlantGrow Slug and Snail Barrier can be used throughout the growing season within the garden borders, pots and containers. Simply apply directly from the box to create a layer on the soil or compost surface that encircles the stems of the plants to be protected. The encirclement should be approximately 10 – 12cm in width and at least 1cm in depth. It is recommended that PlantGrow Slug and Snail Barrier is not applied onto very wet soil or during periods of heavy rainfall. PlantGrow Slug and Snail Barrier can be re-applied or topped up as and when required. After use, PlantGrow Slug and Snail Barrier can be left to naturally biodegrade into the soil or can be raked and hoed into the surface layer to provide nutrients to healthy plant growth and strong root development.
